President and CEO, GE Healthcare
John Flannery is the President and CEO at GE Healthcare, a $17 billion segment of General Electric Company and the first GE business headquartered outside of the United States. GE Healthcare provides transformational medical technologies and services that are shaping a new age of patient care. With expertise in diagnostic imaging, healthcare IT and the life-sciences, GE Healthcare's broad range of products and services enable healthcare providers to better diagnose and treat cancer, heart disease, neurological diseases, and other conditions earlier. John was appointed to his current role in October 2014.
Since April 2013, John served as Senior Vice President for GE’s Corporate Business Development. Prior to this, Mr. Flannery was President and CEO for GE India where he was directly responsible for all of GE’s operations in the country. Mr. Flannery has been with GE for over 25 years and has held several senior leadership positions in the company. He has extensive experience in building and leading large teams and growing businesses in global assignments.
Mr. Flannery was also President & CEO, GE Capital, Asia Pacific. Before that, Mr. Flannery was President and CEO of GE Commercial Finance, Asia. Prior to joining GE Commercial Finance, Asia, John was Managing Director and Business Leader of the Bank Loan Group (BLG) for GE Corporate Financial Services where he managed one of the largest global institutional loan portfolios valued at nearly $10 Billion, with a specific emphasis on distressed debt investments.
Prior to joining BLG, Mr. Flannery was President and CEO of GE Equity, the $6 Billion private equity arm of GE Capital and before that held a number of leadership positions in the leveraged finance and private equity sectors, including two years as President and CEO, GE Capital Argentina and Chile.
Mr. Flannery is a 1983 graduate of Fairfield University and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
